LG Electronics announced that the LG Arena (LG-KM900) multimedia phone has exceeded one million sales worldwide. The LG Arena Smartphone reached the milestone in just five months after debuting at the Mobile World Congress 2009 in February, reinforcing its stature as a premium Smartphone. In accordance with predictions from experts in the market, the LG Arena Smartphone rapidly broke the one million sales barrier after its announcement in Barcelona. This figure was achieved in five months after the commercial launch in April and puts it ahead of the sales of the LG Viewty phone. The Viewty - a professional level camera phone - has gone on to sell more than eight million units worldwide since its launch in October 2007.

The year 2008 was very successful for LG. Not only thanks to the worldwide sales of 100 million mobile phones, but also because of having conquered a significantly larger market share. As a result of the high sales numbers, LG is well on its way to reach a solid Top 3 ranking. And with the many product introductions announced by LG Electronics, this aim may well become reality. LG Electronics MobileComm (LG Mobile Phones) kicks off CTIA in Las Vegas with a roar as it announces an exclusive mobile phone marketing alliance with the highly anticipated upcoming summer film “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” produced by DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures. Paramount will release the film on June 24, 2009. In anticipation of the release, LG Mobile Phones will launch a multi-faceted marketing campaign to promote the LG Mobile Phones brand and the overall theme of technology in the film. “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” director and executive producer, Michael Bay, will make a special appearance in the LG booth at CTIA, the largest wireless industry trade show.

Compared to large brands in the mobile phone market, such as Nokia and Samsung, LG certainly has some catching up to do when it comes to the worldwide market share. However, there does seem to be some growth. The mobile phones by LG are gradually becoming more popular and the consumer seems to have increasing faith in LG. Design and functionality are LG's keywords. Naturally, LG attended the Mobile World Congress 2009 in Barcelona. Highlight of the 2009 show was undoubtedly the LG Arena smart phone. This new LG phone stands for everything that LG considers to be a multimedia phone. In addition to communication, digital audio and video should now be experienced at the highest possible level, thanks to the integrated new interactive 3D S-Class UI (User Interface). An impressive thing to strive for, but at the same time, this is exactly what should do it for the LG Arena multimedia handset.
