A remarkable development in Smartphones is the running trend to go smaller. Smaller smartphones, with smaller displays. Although that is a broad concept, because a 3.2-inch format display is still not less than average for a modern smartphone. In any case, there was reason enough for HTC to come up with the HTC HD mini smartphone. It is a new Windows Mobile smartphone with a more compact design and with a more modest format display of 3.2 inches. In comparison with the high-end smartphones with a 4.3-inch format, it makes quite a difference. During the Mobile World Congress 2010 in Spain we took a moment to have a closer look at the new HTC HD mini Smartphone.

It did not come as a surprise that the first mobile phones equipped with Windows Mobile 6.5 software were HTC phones, since HTC is considered market leader of Windows Mobile Smartphones. The HTC Touch 2 and HTC HD2 are the first HTC models featuring this system. Although several models were already launched onto the market earlier with the ability to download a free update to Windows Mobile 6.5. Also named the Google Nexus One look-a-like, the new HTC Desire Smartphone was presented during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. HTC Mobile is a Taiwanese cell phone manufacturer that has been making a lot of noise with the introduction of interesting new Smartphones in the last few years, and HTC is always good for its remarkable technical specifications such as the case of the HTC Desire. The new, slim-line designed HTC Desire is equipped with a fast 1Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and a large, 3.7-inch format display. The display is not only remarkable in terms of format; the screen is a multi-touch AMOLED-type screen, so that the color saturation and contrast are immediately noticeable.

HTC Mobile was also present and presented several interesting mobile products during the Mobile World Congress in Spain, including the new HTC Legend Smartphone. That was not really a surprise anymore, as several rumors already appeared at the end of 2009 wherein the HTC Legend, among others was named. But holding the final, functioning product in your hands is still always the moment of the first impression. After the presentation we took the time to give the HTC Legend a more thorough look. The first thing that we noticed is that it’s solid, in terms of body quality, without making this new HTC smartphone heavy to hold.

HTC Mobile introduces the HTC HD mini, an HTC Sense-based Windows Phone focused on delivering the popular experience of the HTC HD2 in a more compact design. Right before the start of the Mobile World Congress 2010, where we will go with a team to find the remaining news items that have not yet slipped through the large cracks in the (Inter)net, information has been leaked about the HTC Incredible smartphone. This HTC smartphone will be included in Verizon’s assortment and will apparently be one of the fastest smartphones available. The HTC Incredible mobile smartphone will have a large format display, although the exact dimensions are not clear yet, but will be approximately 3.7 inches. The HTC Incredible’s speed will be achieved thanks to the fast Snapdragon processor with a fast 256MB RAM.

There must be someone in that marketing department that had a side job next to their study that was solely comprised of inventing silly names? Well, that person is working for several different cell phone manufacturers or there are several people that meet that profile. Take for example the following rumor: the existence of the HTC Supersonic smartphone. Supersonic? I thought that that name had disappeared with the disappearance of the Concord flights! The HTC Supersonic is supposed to be the full successor of the HTC HD2 smartphone. Why not just call that smartphone the HTC HD3?
