HTC Corp., the world’s leading provider of Microsoft Windows Mobile smart devices, launched the HTC Touch Cruise, the third member of the HTC Touch product family and the first to feature built-in GPS for personal navigation. Building on the popularity of the HTC Touch and the HTC Touch Dual, the Touch Cruise also includes 3G-HSDPA wireless connectivity. Users on the move will easily be able to interact with the HTC Touch Cruise’s navigation functionality and can take advantage of HTC’s TouchFLO technology, which enhances finger touch scrolling and browsing of Web pages, documents, messages and contact lists, controlled by simply sweeping a finger across the screen.

The excitement over the Apple iPhone has settled down again. Touch screen phones are slowly gaining popularity and almost every brand offers a touch screen telephone in their assortment. In the beginning touch screens were too sensitive and hard to use. HTC has a lot of experience in the touch screen mobile phone segment. The HTC TyTN, HTC P4350 en de HTC P3600 are some examples of the HTC touch screen mobile phones.

HTC gave their third press conference in the Amsterdam Arena in the Netherlands. Mark Moons, Country Manager Benelux and spokesman for HTC Netherlands looked back on the first half of this year, 2007, and compared it with the first half of 2006 regarding the market share they possessed at that time. Canalys data show a market share increase from 11.2 to 14.4%. At the same time it becomes apparent that Windows Mobile as operating system for the smartphone is the undisputed market leader with a total market growth of 17.6%. Resulting in a market leadership in the Netherlands for HTC phones for Windows Mobile Smartphones with a share of 69% (first half of 2007) as is shown in a diagram by Canalys.

At the HTC press event, held in the Amsterdam Arena, the Netherlands, I was able to get my hands on the new HTC S730 mobile phone. HTC is doing great, at least that is what the marketing of HTC is communicating. And to be honest we can easily say HTC being an innovator of business devices and early adopter phones. Last April, the HTC S710 was introduced in the Netherlands and this mobile phone became a successful form factor. Mark Moons, Country Manager Benelux, showed the attending press the follow-up of the S710; the new HTC S730 mobile phone.

Another new mobile phone has been unveiled at the HTC press event held in the Amsterdam Arena, the Netherlands. When HTC introduced the Touch everyone was thinking of iPhone. You can say what you want to say, but the reality is that since the introduction of the HTC Touch in Asia and Europe, US will get the Touch later on, already 800.000 have been sold. The TouchFlo technique of the HTC Touch made its debut and after the first user reviews it became clear to HTC that this technique was experienced as intuitive, user friendly and not less important, fun to use!
