The times that you used your cell phone only to make calls, seem like a long time ago. In this way we saw many applications during the Mobile World Congress 2010 in Barcelona that have nothing to do with mobile communication, but that do all make use of the cell phone platform and its different operating systems. The value of a cell phone and also measure of dependence that we have of a smartphone becomes greater every day. In this way we see several new Garmin-Asus products, including the new Garmin-Asus A50. At first glance it seems to be a strong combination of mobile communication and GPS navigation.

Garmin-Asus, a co-branded alliance between Garmin and ASUSTeK Computer announced the Garmin-Asus M10, a full-touch, all-in-one new smartphone powered by the latest version of Windows Mobile from Microsoft. The Garmin-Asus nuvifone M10 mobile keeps professionals connected with business and personal contacts, email, calendar and messaging, in addition to featuring preloaded mobile navigation from Garmin. The Garmin-Asus M10 Smartphone is expected to be available through carrier and retail channels in Asia and Europe in the first half of 2010.

Garmin-Asus announced the nuvifone A50, a touchscreen smartphone with multiple GPS location technologies and software applications. The Garmin-Asus A50 Smartphone benefits from the personalization and enhanced features offered by the Android platform, and also includes Garmin navigation with turn-by-turn, voice prompted directions for use in a car or while walking. Location features are designed into virtually every function including email, text messaging, and photos. The Garmin-Asus nuvifone A50 will be on display at the Garmin-Asus booth at Mobile World Congress 2010.

Garmin-Asus, a co-branded alliance between Garmin Ltd. and ASUSTeK Computer Inc, announced the Garmin-Asus nüvifone M20, an all-in-one cell phone, mobile web-browser and premium navigation system with a Windows Mobile operating system. The Garmin-Asus nüvifone M20 handset will be on display at GSMA Mobile World Congress 2009 in Barcelona, Spain, February 16-19, 2009, at the Garmin-Asus exhibit booth.

Garmin and ASUSTeK Computer announced a strategic alliance that will leverage the companies' navigation and mobile telephony expertise to design, manufacture and distribute co-branded location-centric mobile phones. Garmin and ASUS have already begun joint development on a diverse mobile phone product line, which will be known as the Garmin-Asus Nuvifone mobile phones. The companies expect to bring to market several Garmin-Asus Nuvifone models in 2009, and a new Garmin-Asus Nuvifone cell phone will be announced at the Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona, Spain, February 16-19, 2009.
