Nokia announced it has completed implementation and optimization services for the deployment of Cellular One's Enhanced Data rates for Global Evolution (EDGE) data and Adaptive Multi-Rate (AMR) voice services to northeast Arizona, northwest New Mexico and southeast Utah. "We are pleased to have worked with Cellular One to deliver EDGE services to residents of the Four Corners region who were previously unable to enjoy access to advanced data and voice communication," said Tim Johnson, Vice President, Networks, Nokia. "This agreement builds upon a foundation set by Nokia and Cellular One in this region in 2002 and demonstrates the commitment of both companies to providing customers with an enhanced communications experience."

Following the initial three years of cooperation Nokia and WWF will continue working together to drive environmental awareness of Nokia employees and to find new ways to enhance Nokia's environmental performance and support WWF's nature conservation goals. The new contract has been signed for an additional three years.

Nokia and international children's organisation, Plan, have joined forces to use modern communications technologies in Africa to raise children's awareness of their rights and opportunities. Nokia has provided an initial donation of 1 million Euros for 2006. The first stage of this joint effort will see Nokia focus on supporting Plan's existing media and communications technology projects for Africa's children and youth.

Nokia, the world leader in mobile communications, and Yahoo!, the number one Internet destination, announced that they are making it easy for mobile photographers to upload and add comments to photos directly from their Nokia Nseries multimedia computers to Flickr, the largest online photo sharing community on the Web,. Consumers will be able to connect to their online Flickr accounts without the need to download or install any additional applications. The Nokia N93, Nokia N73 and Nokia N72, also announced today, are the first Nokia Nseries devices to support Flickr.

Nokia announced that it has reached an agreement with Microsoft to integrate Live Search capabilities into its Mobile Search platform, thus enabling consumers access to Live Search directly from their Nokia Nseries multimedia computers and other compatible Nokia S60 devices. Live Search will provide advanced web search results in 14 languages to enable on-the-go access to the information and content consumers want most.

Discovery Communications and Nokia announced a global collaboration that will deliver to consumers Discovery's high quality, knowledge-based content pre-loaded onto Nokia's newest and most sophisticated mobile devices and wireless personal devices. In the first phase the co-operation will give consumers access to a Discovery-produced "Best of Discovery" montage clip on the Nokia N92 mobile device and Nokia 770 Internet Tablet. Additionally, Discovery's content will be demonstrated on Nokia's devices in many trade shows. The Discovery-branded clip will include inspiring and engaging video of nature shots such as landscapes, animals and sunrises as well as city scenes.

BAE Systems, the premier trans-Atlantic defense and aerospace company, has selected Nokia to build its GSM/EDGE network to support operations at its Merrimack, N.H., facilities. Under the contract, Nokia will supply a GSM/GPRS/EDGE network of equipment and services, including a mobile softswitch solution (MSC Server System), a packet core network solution, radio network equipment, and the Nokia NetAct network and service management system in a self-contained, deployable unit configuration. Contract terms also include deployment, training and an extensive set of care services.

Danger announces that T-Mobile USA, Inc. will introduce the T-Mobile Sidekick 3, the latest device to feature Danger's award-winning software. In addition to being a full-featured mobile phone and digital organizer, the T-Mobile Sidekick 3 provides an entire suite of mobile Internet applications, including HTML Web browser, push e-mail and instant messaging. In the spirit of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Qwest and Sanyo announced that they have extended support to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation through the proceeds from sales of Qwest Communications International Inc. The program, which began in June and was to end October 31, has been extended through December 31, 2006, and now includes three pink phones. Ten percent of all retail sales of the pink phones through December 31 will be donated to the Komen Foundation with an extended maximum donation of $150,000. Three pink phones by Qwest and Sanyo are now available at all 100 Qwest retail locations in Qwest’s 14-state service area. In addition to Qwest retail locations, the new phones will be sold through Qwest’s call centers and
