LG Electronics announced that the LG Arena (LG-KM900) multimedia phone has exceeded one million sales worldwide. The LG Arena Smartphone reached the milestone in just five months after debuting at the Mobile World Congress 2009 in February, reinforcing its stature as a premium Smartphone. In accordance with predictions from experts in the market, the LG Arena Smartphone rapidly broke the one million sales barrier after its announcement in Barcelona. This figure was achieved in five months after the commercial launch in April and puts it ahead of the sales of the LG Viewty phone. The Viewty - a professional level camera phone - has gone on to sell more than eight million units worldwide since its launch in October 2007.

Samsung Mobile announced the market expansion of the Samsung Omnia 2 (model: Samsung I8000), an all-in-one Smartphone based on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional. Launched on July 15 in Singapore, where its predecessor Omnia was unveiled last year, the Samsung Omnia II is in great demand by eagerly awaiting fans. The Samsung Omnia 2 multimedia cell phone began selling in other Asian countries including Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, and Vietnam in July, and will be launched in over twenty further countries during August, including The Netherlands, China, Australia, Turkey and The United Arab Emirates.
