AT&T and Samsung Samsung Mobile, the number one mobile phone provider in the United States, announced the upcoming availability of the Samsung Evergreen Smartphone, a quick messaging handset built with 70% recycled post-consumer plastics and packaging that utilizes 80% recycled post-consumer paper. Samsung Mobile announced it will donate $1 for every Samsung Evergreen cell phone sold, with a maximum donation of $100,000, to the non-profit organization Cell Phones for Soldiers.

Verizon Wireless and Samsung Telecommunications America (Samsung Mobile) announced that the Samsung Zeal, a dual-hinge messaging cell phone in a unique, flip-style format with an E-Ink technology transforming the QWERTY keypad, will be available online at the Verizon Wireless website and in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores from November 2010. Open the Samsung Zeal vertically as a flip phone and it has a traditional numeric keypad and can change to an alpha-only keypad. In landscape, the Samsung Zeal phone features a QWERTY keypad that can change to numeric with symbols. The new Samsung Zeal Smartphone will be available in the colour black.
