Manufacturers seem so Android-minded these days, that they actually get in each other's way simply because of their eagerness. One after the other, they all seem to have adopted the Google Android OS, which means we can soon expect a big stack of new Android phones. Some information was already floating around the Internet about Dell joining in on the Android race, and the most recent rumor indeed seems to indicate an imminent release of one or more Dell Android phones. The name is still ambiguous, although most likely, a Dell Streak Android mobile phone will become available on the U.S. market in combination with AT&T, and a Dell Mini 3iX on the Brazilian market.

The interest in Motorola DROID is quite big, which is a real boost for the beleaguered Motorola, especially considering the fact the brand has trouble keeping its head above water. To keep things 'transparent', the DROID phone will also be released under a different name. For example; Vodafone and O2 in Germany offer the Motorola MILESTONE, which is indeed a DROID clone. The Motorola MILESTONE is an Android 2.0-based slider phone which is supposed to lift the Mobile Internet experience to an entirely new level. This all sounds great, although we're yet to find out whether this is actually the case in practice, too. However, the Motorola MILESTONE specifications sure look good.

HTC is about to launch a new Google Android-based mobile phone. These days, it seems more of a rule than an exception to leak information; this time about the HTC Droid Eris. At this moment, it seems that the HTC Eris will be launched onto the US market under this name exclusively by Verizon, however, we will not be surprised if we soon come across this HTC Android phone in other regions too. The HTC Android Eris does not run on Android 2.0, but will be introduced with version 1.5 and will be standard bundled with an 8GB microSD memory card. As a possible release date, 6 November has been mentioned.

Has Sony-Ericsson become completely careless, or is it an new intentional strategy to leak product information? If the leaking carries on like this, there simply won't be any mobile phones left to introduce during the Mobile World Congress 2010 in Barcelona. As of this year, Sony-Ericsson no longer uses names like Cybershot or Walkman; instead more exotic names pop up, such as Satio. We have now come across the Sony Ericsson Kurara, which is supposedly a Symbian S60 5th generation OS Smartphone. At this time, the Sony Ericsson Kurara specifications are still scarce, although it's expected to be a full-touch Sony-Ericsson Symbian phone featuring a large display and an 8 Megapixel camera.

I am appalled, I can't find a better word to express myself. What's the use of press spokesmen, press events and all sorts of seemingly official introductions, when the information itself is left loose on the Internet? Take for example the Sony Ericsson Xperia 3, a phone based on the Google Android OS. Officially, the Sony Ericsson Android Smartphone does not yet even exist, however, several pictures of the Xperia 3 can already be found, including several phone specifications. Sony Ericsson just doesn't seem capable of keeping product information away from the Net, while at the same time, journalists are expected to keep their mouths shut because of an NDA. Who's the fool here?
