The PRIME series Docomo mobile phones, will be expanded with a new cameraphone in the first quarter of 2010. The NTT Docomo F-01B is a waterproof mobile phone with a high resolution image sensor of 12.2 Megapixels. So even in Japan, where this model will without question be found on the store shelves, they prove susceptible to marketing slogans such as highest resolution. This resolution for a mobile phone is simply absurd, at least with the current technology and application level, however, it does sound great as a specification. The new NTT F-01B waterproof phone will be available in several colors; black, blue and white.

According to several sources, Samsung Mobile will soon introduce a new, so-called DUAL-SIM phone. The Samsung C6112 is such a Dual SIM cell phone, and is expected to be introduced this year just in time for the holiday season. It is currently not yet clear as to which region the Samsung C6112 is meant for. A DUAL-SIM phone is particularly useful for those who want to keep their corporate and private calls separated, yet don't want to walk around with two different cell phones. It is also convenient to use the second SIM for a local provider if you spend a lot of time abroad, in order to keep the costs of calls effectively low.

Apple is booming: whether it's an iPod MP3 player or an iMac computer, each Apple product is bit mystical. Such is the Apple iPhone, which is in fact just a regular cell phone. Only the rumor that they are working on a basic model iPhone, the iPhone 3Gs 8GB, is stirring things up again. It must be the fault of the Android mobile phone, which is coming from a manufacturer whose existence often appears to be hanging on a thin thread. The Motorola MILESTONE Android phone, or otherwise known as the Motorola DROID, could create fierce competition, especially in the lowest segment of today’s mobile phone market.

During a Q3 2009 business results presentation, Garmin revealed plans for a Garmin Android smartphone. The Business Update was presented by Cliff Pemble, President and COO of Garmin. In the update, it became apparent that Garmin is keen on the Google Android operating system. With the announcement that Garmin is going to focus on Android, it seems that Garmin has taken a clear decision to consider Android as an open source system. The Android Software Operating System is actually a competitor for Garmin’s own operating system, but given the speed with which the Android hype has taken over the market, it is not unwise for them to join the bandwagon as well.

The Apple iPhone 3GS has only recently become available, but the first rumors about a new iPhone (iPhone 4G?) are already flooding the internet. According to the rumors and a well-informed source, according to himself, Apple is testing a prototype iPhone with built-in RIFD reader. For those not familiar with RFID; this is a technology to store and read information from a distance of so-called RFID tags, which are found in or on objects. In practice, you come across these on a daily base in the form of detection gates in shops. But why would an Apple iPhone 4G be equipped with RFID, and what could a possible functionality of RFID be?
