S ony Xperia Z Android smartphone - There have been many speculations about a new flagship smartphone from Sony. Until now this smartphone was named Sony Xperia Yuga C660x, but according to the latest information the new top model will be called Sony Xperia Z. The expected specifications of the new Xperia Z are a 5-inch display with Full HD 1080p resolution and Sony Bravia Engine technology, for unprecedented image quality. In the heart of the Sony Xperia Z we will find a 1.7Ghz quad-core processor with 2GB RAM. The Sony Xperia Z will most likely run on the latest operating system from Google; Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. Furthermore, the new Sony smartphone will receive IP57 certification for dust and water resistance.

 

Sony Xperia Z camera features

It is expected that the Sony Xperia Z smartphone will feature a 13 megapixel digital camera. The current flagship model, the Xperia T is also provided with a 13 megapixel camera. Nevertheless the camera on the Xperia Z will probably deliver better performance. The camera seems to get equipped with a HDR mode for still photos and videos. We see the HDR mode more and more on regular compact cameras, but this technology has not yet been implemented in a smartphone. If the Sony Xperia Z truly gets equipped with this technology it will absolutely help to get much better exposed photos.

 

 

Official introduction of the Xperia Z

Multiple sources report that Sony will choose the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, held in January 2013, for the official introduction of the Xperia Z. However, we believe that the Mobile World Congress 2013, which takes place in February in Barcelona, will be the perfect event to introduce this flagship smartphone. Anyway, we will undoubtedly hear more about the Sony Xperia Z smartphone in the upcoming weeks.
