M obile World Congress 2012 - Nokia sets a new industry standard for camera smartphones with the introduction of PureView Imaging Technologies. The Nokia 808 is the first smartphone to spread the word. This PureView based smartphone features a large high-resolution 41 Megapixel image sensor with high-performance Carl Zeiss lens optics and new pixel oversampling technology. The Nokia 808 is the first handset of high-end experiences based on exclusive Nokia PureView imaging technologies. The Nokia 808 PureView smartphone is ready for pre-order at various internet shops and carries a suggested retail price of $899 USD.

At 38 Megapixel (maximum) resolution users of the Nokia 808 can capture a picture, then zoom, reframe, crop or resize afterwards to expose previously unseen levels of details. At standard resolutions (5 and 8 Megapixels) this means users have the ability to zoom without loss of clarity and capture seven pixels of information, condensing into one pixel for the most beautiful pictures imaginable.
