T he Nokia Lumia 800 is the first smartphone that emerged from the collaboration between Nokia and Microsoft. The Nokia Lumia 800 operates on the new Windows Phone Mango operating system. Previously, the now outdated 'Windows Mobile' was interesting for its synchronization possibilities. Various applications/settings have been present for a while, only it remained a relatively forced mobile version of Windows desktop variant. The new Windows Phone has been rigorously rearranged: everything is arranged from the user’s point of view. After unlocking the Nokia Lumia 800’s screen, the menu is visible in two parts, the so-called ‘tiles’ and the main menu.

Nokia Lumia 800 review

The Nokia Lumia 800's display is an incredibly clear AMOLED Touchscreen with ClearBlack technology, for the ultimate display of multimedia applications. Black is truly black on this screen, and the transition from the screen to the edge of the phone is almost invisible. This beautiful screen is perfect for showing movies. The Nokia Lumia 800 also offers an Xbox Live environment for gaming, where your Avatar dances to the music that you are playing. Of course there is an extensive music player available where you can easily find your favorite music. There is also a music store, where you can listen to a demo of every track before buying.

Internet on the Nokia Lumia 800

The Nokia Lumia 800 has Microsoft's Mobile Internet Explorer browser for surfing the internet. The browser works fast, while moving (of course depending on range) and on locations with wireless internet. The pages are displayed well.  There is no Flash support, but there is support for HTML5. The navigation toolbar is found at the bottom of the screen of the Lumia 800, with the Refresh button to the left and the Options button to the right. Via Options, you can manage tabs and add favorites, or place a tile on the main screen. Furthermore, next to ‘Cards' in the menu, you find ‘Nokia Drive', which is a complete navigation system. The position is determined quickly; only entering the destination could have been a bit easier.
