H TC has introduced at the MWC 2011 in Spain a new HTC Smartphone built entirely to be social, combining the simplicity, ease-of-use and depth of HTC Sense user interface with the power and connectivity of Facebook. The HTC Salsa Smartphone features a dedicated Facebook button for access to the key functions of the Facebook website that are integrated throughout the HTC Sense user experience. The HTC Salsa Smartphone is designed to provide a seamless, social experience by enabling you to stay in touch with your friends anywhere and anytime of the day.

The HTC Salsa Smartphone provides a fast, high-performance Smartphone experience. Capture your favourite moment in high-resolution pictures or video with the 5 megapixel digital camera and immediately share it with friends or family on the large 3.4-inch, 480 x 320 pixel resolution touchscreen display. Upload your photos to your Facebook account at the touch of a button. For face-to-face conversations on the move, the VGA forward facing camera enables high-quality video calling. Facebook Smartphones

The Facebook button on the HTC Salsa Smartphone is context-aware, gently pulsing with light whenever there is an opportunity to share content or updates through Facebook. With a press of the button, you can update your Facebook status, upload a picture, share a site, post what music song you are listening to, ‘check in' to a location and many more. For example, you can take a photo of  your friends on your HTC Salsa Smartphone and upload it instantly to Facebook by simply pressing the Facebook button on your phone. Or let your friends know what song you're listening to by pressing the Facebook button while listening to music on the HTC Salsa Smartphone. The music track is automatically identified and shared on Facebook.

 

 

HTC Salsa features

The HTC Salsa mobile phone features Android Gingerbread 2.3.3, the latest version, and uses the new version of HTC Sense to integrate Facebook functionality throughout the HTC Sense experience. When you make a phone call with the HTC Salsa, the dialer screen displays your friend's latest status and pictures, and even tells you if their birthday is approaching. The same updates are also displayed on your phone when you receive a call from a Facebook friend. You can personalize your HTC Salsa Smartphone with a number of new Facebook widgets.

 

 

HTC Salsa review availability

The new HTC Salsa Smartphone will be available to major European and Asian markets during Q2 2011. In the United States, HTC plans to market this experience later this year exclusively with AT&T. As soon as we receive a HTC Salsa Smartphone sample, we will publish a picture gallery with high resolution photos, followed by an extensive HTC Salsa review.
