W hoever visited the Mobile World Congress themselves could not get around Samsung. With one of the largest and most colorful booths, Samsung presented itself optimally, in our opinion. Of course there already was attention for the Samsung Wave, but also the Samsung Monte S5620 received the necessary attention. Although we truly had to look for it... The Samsung Monte S5620 is a mobile phone meant for the masses, or rather, it is a mid-range handset. The 3-inch display is just a bit smaller than the remarkable high-end cell phones, but it does have a WQVGA resolution and the most recent TouchWiz interface.

The Samsung Monte S5620 does not have a very remarkable design, but is very neatly finished. Samsung's design department does not leave any details unfinished and is often successful in coming up with the right looks and feels for new products. The Samsung Monte smartphone's display may not be of the same caliber as the Samsung Wave, but the ease of use that the display delivers is remarkably good. The touch screen only requires a light touch to come into action, which delivers a precise feedback.

New Samsung phones

The back of the Samsung Monte phone has some more relief, which is pleasant, for that matter. This allows for the Samsung Monte phone to be more comfortable to handle. During our visit to the MWC 2010 in Spain, we saw all kinds of cell phones in all kinds of shapes and various sizes and not always without consequence. Some were tested immediately for shock resistance, perhaps not voluntarily, but the body itself was so smooth, that in a bit of a warm situation, the chance that the device fell out of our hands increased. Give us a bit more grip!

Samsung Monte applications

The start screen of the Samsung Monte phone is made up out of three different pages on which widgets can be placed. Via the so-called ‘Edit' key, the widgets can be managed. The Apps are becoming increasingly important for Samsung, there is even an App store that will be released worldwide and where electronic devices such as cell phones and even televisions can be connected. The Apps for the Samsung Monte phones also seem to profit from this attention. Social network Apps such as Facebook and Twitter are run smoothly on the device.

Samsung Monte camera functions

The Monte's digital camera is from the past, at least, it seems like it. There is no auto focus, what is a mobile phone without auto focus doing on the market in 2010?, It has a very modest resolution of 3.2 Megapixels, and no built-in flash, giving the Samsung Monte phone a bit of a backwards appearance. In our opinion, Samsung has missed out on a few details here!

Samsung Monte phone reviews

We will most likely plan a mobile phone review for the new Samsung Monte. We have made a note of the pile of new mobile phones that have been introduced recently, and will be making a selection. If the Samsung Monte phone is one of the chosen ones, then a full Samsung Monte review will be published.
