N TT Docomo, the largest telecom provider on the Japanese market, is always good for some interesting and innovative mobile solutions. Take the new Smartphone we have previewed in of our Mobile World Congress 2010 articles that can be split into two halves and can also be used independently. The software applications are unknown, but such innovations often lead to end products for consumers that are truly useful. For example the GPS solutions, often used functionally to find your way in a new city, country, etc. but there are also other applications that maybe become more interesting in the near future. For example, the locating of objects or people.

Kids mobile phone with Alarm feature

During the MWC 2010 in Barcelona, NTT demonstrated a new service, the so-called Imadoco search. When this service is used, it is possible to locate people, for example children. This can be done directly according to a command or periodically.

The special Kids phone that was demonstrated had a small cord that can be pulled. Once it is pulled, a loud alarm is audible and the parent, in this case, receives an email via the Imadoco service to notify them that there is something wrong.

Such technology is processed in the cell phone and combined with the NTT Imadoco service, but you could of course also think of using this technology to locate (sports-) clothing or other objects. NTT Docomo in any case shows that they are actively progressive and innovative on the Japanese market... now they have to try and conquer the rest of the world.
