T he Mobile World Congress in Barcelona is the place for handset manufacturers to present themselves to the international press. And next to the creative marketing talk, which sounds nice, we of course go mostly for the new mobile devices, as those are pumped up and form an important part of the manufacturer’s image. Although Sony-Ericsson seems to be focusing less on hardware, and instead teaching the consumer more to experience the different services that Sony-Ericsson has to offer, but we still need a Sony-Ericsson smartphone. The Sony-Ericsson Vivaz Pro Smartphone received an official status during the MWC 2010. It is a business version of the Sony-Ericsson Vivaz handset.

Sony-Ericsson Vivaz Pro review

Sony-Ericsson Vivaz Pro quick review

The big difference is noticeable right away, which is the sliding QWERTY keyboard. It makes the whole thing a bit thicker, but the dimensions are still pretty compact. Sony-Ericsson seems to attribute this especially to an advanced form of design, the so-called ‘Human Curvature' design. An additional advantage, which is actually  the goal of this type of design, is that the Sony-Ericsson Vivaz Pro Smartphone is very comfortable to handle. Nothing is more annoying than holding a cell phone that slides out of your hand, or has an unhandy shape.

The Sony-Ericsson Vivaz Pro's operation is smooth, the fast processor and the structured setup make for a positive contribution. It is always a bit tricky to judge electronic devices in detail right away, but for a first impression or test this is indeed the impression that we got. The Vivaz Pro's operating system is Symbian S60 and seems to be a good combination with the device.

Besides the good first impression that this Sony-Ericsson smartphone left us with, the definite advantage seems to be the extra QWERTY keyboard. Ideal for maintaining social networks or just sending ‘old-fashioned' email. As soon as we have a review sample of this new Sony-Ericsson smartphone, a full Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro review will be published next to a high resolution photo gallery. The Sony-Ericsson Vivaz Pro business handset has an estimated retail price of 385,00 Euro.
