T hat a new Samsung Wave mobile phone was introduced during the Mobile World Congress 2010 in Spain did not escape the attention of anyone interested in mobile news. Bada, Samsung’s new mobile OS on which the Samsung Wave handset runs, is meant to be the open platform for which Apps can be massively developed. There was a short game demonstration at the Samsung booth, but the real winner is the Polish developer Gamileon, who announced that the popular platform game Furry Legends will also be available for the Bada platform. Furry Legend is a 3D mobile game, so Samsung Wave’s 1Ghz processor will probably be running at full capacity.

It is difficult to predict if the Samsung Wave mobile phone will be able to match the Apple iPhone's success in terms of mobile gaming. According to President JF Shin of Samsung Mobile, Samsung is very serious in terms of Bada and are aiming for the top. The mobile platform Bada is the figurehead of Samsung's mobile strategy. Samsung Bada mobile software has to be accessible for everyone, for the consumer as well as the developer and the provider.

Samsung Apps was introduced in three countries in 2009: France, the UK and Italy. 50 more countries are to follow this year. The three most important pillars of the Samsung mobile strategy are: innovation, support and open platform. Together they are to form success for Samsung Mobile's coming roadmap. Gaming will undoubtedly be a motor for the developers and consumers to put Bada on the map.

It is expected that the first Samsung Wave mobile phone will be available at the end of April, or the beginning of May 2010. As soon as a test sample of the new Samsung Wave mobile phone is available, a detailed review of this Super AMOLED mobile phone will be published!
