3D glasses

T here was literally no escaping it, the 3D thunderstorm hit like a fast-moving train through the halls of the Las Vegas Convention Centre during the Consumer Electronics Show. Various arrangements with diverse high-end 3D multimedia content were shown, the one even more convincing than the other, so that one thing was clear: 3D will definitely be conquering a place in the living room. The Plasma, LED and other HDTV screens each look fantastic, the one slimmer and more beautiful designed than the other, but with the common denominator of the 3D glasses. We all have to subscribe to it, at least if we want to experience 3D at our homes.

 

 

 

3D gaming glasses, 3D sport glasses a logical continuation

Now that we have seen several of these 3D glasses, we concluded that it won't be long before the first design 3D glasses, 3D gaming glasses, or even 3D sport glasses will be offered. After we had experienced 3D to the full, we quickly came to asking the question that unfortunately has not been answered clearly yet by the different manufacturers. Namely, are the different 3D glasses and support from the different manufacturers interchangeable?

For now it seems more than likely that I cannot bring my own Sony 3D glasses to my friend's house to watch the World Cup football on his Panasonic 3D plasma screen, nor vice versa. Do we then all have to buy extra sets of 3D glasses for our guests? The answer to this question will hopefully arrive quickly, as it is a question that keeps gnawing...
