T he leaking of an HTC mobile phone roadmap for 2010 has released information about a new series of HTC smartphones with Android and Windows Mobile OS. Last year there was also a leaked roadmap that appeared to be quite accurate after the fact. That’s why we assume that the recently leaked information will turn out to be mostly accurate. One of the new HTC phones will be a new Windows Mobile smartphone, the HTC Trophy. Not much is known yet, but for now we can assume that the HTC Trophy WCDMA / HSPA: 900 / 2100Mhz will support the network with GSM / GPRS / EDGE: 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900Mhz support. The OS will be at least Windows Mobile 6.5.

HTC Trophy smartphone features

In terms of the display, the HTC Trophy smartphone has a 3.0-inch format touch screen with a (640x480 pixels) resolution. The internal memory has a 512MB flash and a 256MB RAM memory, in addition to the usual microSDHC flash memory card support for a maximum storage capacity of 32GB. The HTC Trophy mobile phone is also equipped with a 5 Megapixels AF camera and a digital zoom function. It is remarkable that less cell phone manufacturers than expected make the leap to 12 Megapixels.

In the interest of quality it is the right step to take, but we do still ask ourselves why it is that mobile phone manufacturers would take such a sensible decision. The camera manufacturer sees a lot of (marketing) problems in stopping with the so-called Megapixel race. Perhaps the reason is that the camera attributes do not (yet) belong to the core attributes of the telephone manufacturers?

Availability of the HTC Trophy mobile phone

We still have to have a lot of patience for the HTC Trophy. The planning is that this smartphone will only become available in May of 2010. We expect that in several months, around the MWC 2010 in Barcelona, we will have more news. Perhaps the HTC Trophy will then be available in the display case next to the other HTC smartphones.
