W ith the arrival of the new version of Windows Mobile, Windows Mobile 6.5, HTC was the first to introduce smartphones using this new OS. Besides the previously introduced HTC Diamond 2 and the HTC Touch Pro 2, which both included a free update to get Windows Mobile 6.5 via the HTC website, HTC has now launched the HTC Touch 2 and the HTC HD 2 onto the market with the new version of Windows Mobile already preinstalled. HTC has renamed the new smartphones that feature this software to; Windows Phones.

We had our first experience with the new version of Windows Mobile with the HTC Touch 2, but due to the slightly smaller screen and a disappointing brightness; it certainly wasn't a very good first impression. We recently received the HTC HD 2, you can view the screenshots in the following HTC HD2 test. Windows Mobile 6.5 comes across a whole lot better on the HTC HD 2.

 

 

HTC HD2 Windows Mobile phone

The first impression of the HTC HD2 smartphone is a good one, and although the phone is slightly bulky, it has a neat finishing touch to it. The edge around the screen is rather small, the keys below the screen feature a simple design. The phone has a solid feel to it, and thanks to the powerful 1Ghz Snapdragon processor, it runs pleasantly smooth and fast.
