T he PRIME series Docomo mobile phones, will be expanded with a new cameraphone in the first quarter of 2010. The NTT Docomo F-01B is a waterproof mobile phone with a high resolution image sensor of 12.2 Megapixels. So even in Japan, where this model will without question be found on the store shelves, they prove susceptible to marketing slogans such as highest resolution. This resolution for a mobile phone is simply absurd, at least with the current technology and application level, however, it does sound great as a specification. The new NTT F-01B waterproof phone will be available in several colors; black, blue and white.

Exactly how waterproof the NTT Docomo F-01B phone will be is not yet clear at all. The dimensions of the F-01B are similar to those of the NTT F-04B, which means you do not have to walk around with a really big bulge in your inside pocket, which is often the case with waterproof equipment. The 12 Megapixels of resolution will allow you to make huge enlargements. Therefore, we hope some intelligent algorithms will have been applied to erase all errors, such as distortion, chromatic aberration etc, from the picture.

Availability of the waterproof phone of NTT Docomo

The NTT Docomo F-01B waterproof phone should be available from this moment on in Japan. The rest of the world will have to wait, possibly until next year, 2010, and attend the Mobile World Congress in Spain. NTT will certainly have found a spot in one of the halls and display its latest Docomo mobile phones.
