T he Finnish phone manufacturer Nokia uses special types of operating systems for the different categories of their mobile phones. Besides the standard S40 software, the smartphones run on Symbian; a well-known operating system which also goes by the name of S60. Symbian was developed by a joint venture between Nokia and several other phone manufacturers. At the beginning of 2008, Nokia bought out the other participants and became the sole shareholder, which implies Nokia wants to get more out of the Symbian system. Nokia review - Symbian menu
The menu runs smoothly. However, the Symbian structure has slightly expanded, which does take time to get used to. Something you always have to count with, is ending a program; simply pressing red does not end it completely, while the program then remains active in the background. If the menu button is pressed for a short while, all open programs will be displayed. This way, you ensure your phone keeps running smoothly, and you make the battery lasts longer.  Also the menu is rather simple when it comes to graphics; it could really have done with a bit more effort and attention.

Nokia test - Digital camera application
The fact that Nokia has even added 8MP to the name, surely draws attention to the digital camera application, making us quite curious. The digital camera is neatly protected by a cover. Upon opening this cover, the camera application is activated. If the cover is opened, you can also start the Nokia N86 camera by pressing the shortcut briefly. It's a decent cover, resembling a genuine digital camera. However, unfortunately scratches do occur while opening Luckily not on the lens itself; although below and beside it, which is a real pity.
