G armin and TomTom had better beware now that Google focuses on developing its own Google navigation. Google is likely to expand its existing Google Maps application with its own navigation software. It is more than likely that this mobile navigation application will be available for free. The shareholders club of recognized GPS navigation manufacturers will certainly not be amused, to put it mildly. Google has already been investing in Maps for several years, and besides that, it provides Google Latitude; a relatively new service to locate GPS individuals on Maps. In combination with Google Ads, Google navigation is bound to become a big business success!

 

Google navigation software

The Google ads are certainly going to be used to enable free use of Google navigation software. These ads could become very interesting if the software knows the exact location of its 'clients' and where they are heading. The growing popularity of Google Android software can also be a powerful engine to make Google navigation a success. Distributing free navigation software through Android OS, enables a quick and global coverage of the navigation application. This way, Google does not have to depend on a provider that right now still has the opportunity to push their own services onto their customers.

 

 

Free Google navigation applications

There are already free navigation applications available on the market, however, they are limited in terms of possibilities. Google has been active in collecting map data for years, and it uses all possible means to get there. Remember the famous Google cars with a 360° camera on their roofs, and also the high resolution satellites scanning every piece of the earth. No doubt Google already has a wealth of information in its huge database.  Are we about to witness the appearance of the Google mobile navigation application?
