T he craving for many phone functions makes it difficult to find a truly old-fashioned, reliable mobile phone without too much additional functionality. Current mobile phones are also more fragile than before, and repair costs out of proportion. This is bad news for a large group of consumers working in physically demanding jobs who need a strong phone that can stand a few bumps. Sonim offers a solution to this group: the Sonim XP3 Enduro. Able to handle a few bumps is even an understatement: you have to exceed yourself in order to be able to damage this mobile phone!

Sonim XP3 Enduro review - Waterproof & Shockproof phone

Indestructible is a term that is usually associated with the Sonim XP3 Enduro. Naturally, anything can be destroyed, but the issues that would usually destroy an average mobile phone, the Sonim XP3 can deal with. The phone has a number of certifications, which makes it a truly unique handset. The phone is not only waterproof, but you can actually leave it dipped underwater for at least 30 minutes without any problem. Extreme temperatures aren't a problem either. During the testing period, I actually threw the phone around, even from a few meters up, and I kept it underwater more than once. The Sonim XP3 can really stand it all and no damage was noticeable.

Sonim XP3 Enduro Test

Sonim XP3 Enduro test - Mobile phone menu

The menu of the Sonim XP3 Enduro is quite simple and especially clear. Upon opening the main menu, 9 icons appear: Calls, Settings, MyFiles, Phonebook, Messages, Simptoolkit, Tools, Fast settings and WAP. In 'Fast settings' you can change the profile, and in 'Tools' you find options like calculator, stopwatch and agenda. The menu is not that extensive and therefore easy to get a hang of. Graphically, it is not that special, although the color screen is quite beautiful, generally everything is kept simple. However; every action is carried out smoothly and fast, the phone responds well and is able to keep up the speed during all processes.

Sonim review : XP3 Enduro

Perhaps you are not familiar with the name Sonim, due to the fact the company currently has only two mobile phone models in the market. It aren't the features, among which are Bluetooth and Opera Web browser, which make this phone noteworthy. It is in fact the ruggedized feature of the XP3 Enduro that does it. This handset is able to withstand practically everything. The phone is waterproof, shockproof and able to deal with extreme temperatures. Our findings with this mobile phone can be read in the following Sonim XP3 Enduro review.
