T oday's households are no longer complete without Samsung. Samsung seems able to turn its hand at anything, and is daring enough to tread virgin ground where other corporations prove to be more conservative. This also goes for the Samsung S2. By now, we are familiar with the Apple iPod Shuffle and the Creative Zen Stone. This pair wasn't appreciated by everyone, mainly due to the fact that MP3 players without a screen simply aren’t trendy. But maybe they will be, with the launch of the Samsung S2, which is trying to surpass its competitors with its very beautiful appearance.

Samsung S2 review

Samsung S2 review - MP3 player operation

It takes a bit of time to get used to the operation of the Pebble. The buttons on the back are clear except for the 'smart' key. Firstly, this key lets you adjust the equalizer to Normal, 3D Studio, Concert Hall. Furthermore, if you keep pressing the smart key longer, the play mode will change; Normal, Shuffle, Playlist (and the color of the LED lamp on the front will indicate which mode is activated). If you pause a song and then press the 'smart' button somewhat longer, the LED on the front is activated or deactivated.

Samsung S2 test - Transferring music files

Just like charging the Pebble, transferring files also happens through the USB adaptor. The disadvantage of this method, unlike mini-USB, is that it takes a lot of time. The advantage is the fact you don't need separate data cables. By the way; dragging music to and fro your MP3 player is a lot quicker than using the Samsung Media Studio Software.

Samsung YP-S2 review

Samsung YP-S2 review

The Samsung YP-S2 belongs to the category of MP3 players without a screen. The S2 has two big rivals: the Apple iPod Shuffle and the Creative Zen Stone. The Samsung S2 is almost identical to both when it comes to specifications: 1 or 2GB, small size, various colors and extremely portable. What makes the S2 MP3 player different to the other MP3 players without a screen? Read the Samsung YP-S2 review for more information.
