T ouchscreens come in a wide array of types and sizes. Naturally, they all serve the same purpose; to operate a mobile phone without using buttons and keys. Yet it is striking to see how they all have a different operation. The main difference is found in press-sensitive and warmth-sensitive touchscreens. Besides this difference, there are hard and soft touchscreens applied to mobile phones. The hard touchscreens, such as the ones integrated in the Samsung Pixon and the HTC Touch HD, don't require you to push hard, since their sensitivity is better. HTC Touch HD review

HTC Touch HD review - Phone menu

Windows Mobile is extremely good when it comes to synchronization, particularly for the corporate users. For private use, I find Windows Mobile slightly improved, although not everything works very smoothly at all times. Without the TouchFlo, the structure of the HTC Touch HD is slightly outdated, or at least, not innovative and the phone freezes a tad too often, for example when sending a text message. Generally speaking, this is not so often the case with alternative complex software.

HTC Touch HD test - Built-in GPS antenna

The built-in GPS antenna lets you determine your position with the HTC Touch HD. Google maps can be used to plan a route, and the application looks fine. Displaying the route is enabled with average cards or satellite pictures, and when using the latest version of Google Maps; even with Streetview. You then walk through a city, as it were. The GPS antenna works fine and fast, and unlike many other mobile phones, the HTC Touch HD is able to connect to a satellite very easily.

HTC Smartphone reviews : Touch HD

Despite the considerable size of the HTC Touch HD, it certainly doesn't lack charm. Thanks to equipping this mobile phone with Windows Mobile 6.1 software, many applications are available. The 5.0 Megapixel digital camera, GPS antenna, HSDPA and Wi-Fi make the HTC Touch HD a full all-round phone. Whether or not this mobile phone is easy to handle in practice can be read in the full HTC Touch HD review.
