L ast week, Samsung was in the spotlight. Coincidence or well-planned, we don’t know, in any case however, the renowned brand name was mentioned frequently. The week ended with a press event showing two new Samsung Mobile phones. The Samsung G810, or rather the Samsung SGH-G10 Navi mobile phone, was officially introduced to the Dutch press with additionally the new Samsung F480. The latter is a so-called Touch phone featuring a touchscreen that ensures Samsung keep pace with the latest trend. An event was set up around the Samsung G810, focussed on navigation and mobile blogging.

With the introduction of the Samsung SGH-G810 Navi, Samsung introduce a mobile navigator. The built-in GPS receiver uses GPS information whilst taking a picture, very smart, which makes finding your way back a piece of cake. Only, of course, if you actually remember to use this function because a mobile phone is gradually becoming crammed with functions.  Either way, it comes in handy when you're on the road and it was the key subject of the Samsung event.

Many press-related people visited the event and the weather Gods were with Samsung. Samsung Netherlands had a number of Old-timers brought in, as well as a couple of classic gloves, to do some sightseeing in the area. Every old-timer was equipped with the Samsung G810 Navi that had to be used continuously while trying to accomplish the assignments on the track. While on the road, the 5 Megapixel camera of the device had to capture certain objects and these had to be uploaded to a specially assigned Hyves internet page, through the Samsung G810 mobile phone.
