T he LG KF600 is a handy sized cell phone with many options. In addition to a 3.0 Megapixel digital camera, Bluetooth and a radio, this phone offers something we have never seen before on a mobile phone: it has two monitors. A common TFT monitor and a touchscreen. The touchscreen is intelligent and offers help, and shows the buttons you need at a specific moment in time. We have been able to extensively test the LG KF600 mobile phone in practise.

LG KF600 phone design

The LG KF600 mobile phone has a shiny black front with dual screens. A common TFT monitor with below it a small touchscreen. The buttons are not visible at first, they appear once you slide open the device. In addition, on the side of the mobile phone, the volume buttons are found to adjust the volume, as well as two short keys for the MP3 player and the camera.

When you slide open the LG KF600 both screens will light up. The small touchscreen displays six pictograms: the menu button with quick buttons for messages, the phonebook, the calendar, sounds and one to deactivate the touchscreen. The menu itself offers a choice from some nine icons directing to the associated functions. To enable scrolling through the menu you use the arrows that are displayed on the touchscreen at that moment. The touchscreen shows different icons all the time to select functions.

 

 

Playback music and videos

Naturally the LG KF600 allows you to play various audio and video formats. Whilst playing music files you will see a timeline on the touchscreen. One simple move on this line lets you play the song forward. This is very easy because the time tells you where you stopped in the song, preventing you from ending up in the next song which frequently happens with other mobile phones. A definite plus for the LG KF600 compared to other phones is the fact that you will hear the next song instantly without having to load, even from the external memory.
