S amsung Mobile was awarded the prestigious title of Manufacturer of the Year at the 2008 Mobile News Awards held at the Hilton Park Lane in Central London on 13th March 2008. At the awards ceremony, TV presenter and comedian Simon Amstell presented Mark Mitchinson from Samsung Mobile UK and Ireland, with the award. Samsung Mobile was commended for its success in building its mobile handset range, its focus and dedication to customer service, and delivering a significant increase in sales through 2007.

Commenting on winning the award, Mark Mitchinson, VP of Samsung Mobile UK and Ireland said: "To win this prestigious award two years in a row is testament to the hard work and dedication displayed by our marketing, product development and sales teams in the UK and Ireland. We've worked hard to develop a holistic numbers of mobile phones that meet the needs of consumers across the spectrum and all segments of the market. In addition to winning Manufacturer of the Year, Samsung Mobile also received recommendations for its Samsung G600 mobile phone marketing campaign and for the Samsung Serenata Bang & Olufsen handset in the innovative product category.
