S unny Optics and Varioptic announce the launch of a second liquid lens auto focus camera module - CCM-8312B. Sunny’s CCM-8312B uses Omnivision OV3640 3 megapixel sensor coupled with Sunny’s optics and Varioptic’s Arctic liquid lens. At 8.5 x 8.5 x 6.7 mm, the camera module is one of the smallest 3MP AF camera modules in the market. The new CCM-8312B camera module offers superior image quality and is ideally suited for slim camera phones. Varioptic’s Arctic liquid lens is ideal for the latest camera phone applications such as video with continuous auto-focus. The increasing trend of video capture and video sharing through the internet means that auto focus is fast becoming a must-have for capturing good quality video.

High quality videos require a fast response time, low power consumption and high reliability. With no moving parts, Varioptic's liquid lens delivers all these requirements. Arctic lenses are manufactured for Varioptic in Wuxi (China) by Creative Sensor Inc.
