TC gave their third press conference in the Amsterdam Arena in the Netherlands. Mark Moons, Country Manager Benelux and spokesman for HTC Netherlands looked back on the first half of this year, 2007, and compared it with the first half of 2006 regarding the market share they possessed at that time. Canalys data show a market share increase from 11.2 to 14.4%. At the same time it becomes apparent that Windows Mobile as operating system for the smartphone is the undisputed market leader with a total market growth of 17.6%. Resulting in a market leadership in the Netherlands for HTC phones for Windows Mobile Smartphones with a share of 69% (first half of 2007) as is shown in a diagram by Canalys.

Press conference HTC Smartphones
Experiences gained with HTC Touch and feedback from the market and the consumer were used to carry out various updates and to further develop the handset towards a new Touch concept: the HTC Touch Dual. In addition to the second generation Touch, HTC also introduce the new S730, the Shift and the P6500 business phone. The HTC Smartphone assortment gained another addition and HTC can now concentrate on the commercial side of the job. Mark Moons likes to add that HTC will start focussing on mobile email in the near future. They will work together with KPN and the aim is to establish HTC even further and more evident.
