Egyptian mobile phone market survey
Competition for lower income subscribers, 98% of which are prepaid mobile phone devices, has led to a downward trend in ARPU which will fall to $11.3 pcm in 2007 (a decline of 12% on the previous year). Egypt is a relatively low penetration mobile phone market, only 29% of Egyptians will own a mobile phone in 2007. Continuing to increase the subscriber base represents the best opportunity to achieve growth until 2007 and beyond.
