Video voicemail

Mobile phone video voicemail

When a receiving party is not available, the combined stream of voice and video/images is stored at the mobile service provider in a manner similar to voicemail today, for retrieval at a later time. Also, realtime video-voice conversations may be recorded - with various permission schemes - for later retrieval in order to document a conversation or because the receiving party is not able to view the images realtime. While the sending party may use a normal size camera-phone, the receiving party may view video-voicemail images on a variety of devices including a wireless mobile phone or PDA smart phone, or alternately a conventional PC connected to the Internet.

Video voicemail - Send image & Video information

"Time and money are frequently wasted on construction projects due to lack of communication between contractors and workers. The Video Voicemail invention provides an easy way for workgroups to send image and video information, while maintaining a communication paradigm that is familiar - basically the paradigm of phone calls and voicemails," said Mr. Osann. "The solution enables high resolution images to be transmitted when a high level of detail is required, and alternately, video clips (which may be at lower resolutions) when spatial relationship or motion information is needed."

Osann added, "In addition to workgroups, this invention is highly useful for family groups as well. One family member can call another while shopping and show videos and images of items they wish to purchase, while another family member views the information for approval or comment."
