Rechargeable AA batteries
Anna Lopez added: "We don't try to follow what everyone else in the market is doing with batteries - we ask what frustrations our customer's are experiencing with their current power options and then try to solve those problems for them with truly innovative product solutions." Probably the most exciting addition to the AA product line is the Ready-to-Use Rechargeable AA batteries. Putting it simply, the technology combines all of the benefits of a rechargeable with the benefits of a single use alkaline cell. "Many battery customers come into a store and purchase alkaline batteries because they can be used immediately - customers don't want to wait around to charge their batteries before they can use them in their cameras, flashes, speakers, or their kids toys," says Lopez. Once an alkaline battery's power is depleted, it gets thrown away and cannot be recycled. Alkaline batteries have to be replaced often- putting a strain on the consumer wallet as well as the environment.
Delkin AA batteries
Delkin's AA Ready-to-Use batteries use technology that allows them to hold their charge better than any standard rechargeable. "Once you charge a standard Ni-MH rechargeable battery it starts to lose 3% to 5% of its charge every day, even when not in use," says Lopez. "This can sometimes mean missing a shot of your child's first step or Grandpa blowing out the candles on his 90th Birthday cake." With the Ready to Use cells, there's no question that the power will be there when your device needs it. Even better, the batteries are environmentally friendly and can be charged and recharged over 800 times then recycled at the end of their lifespan.
Rechargeable AA batteries - Extended Power 2900mAh
For those that are interested in the highest mAh rating available, Delkin's new Extended Power 2900mAh Rechargeable AA batteries cater to high drain devices that use a lot of power at one time, such as digital cameras that boast large LCD displays with a powerful flash. "As digital cameras evolve, photographer's find that they need more mAh power to shoot for the same amount of time," says Marketing Manager Eric Richter. "The standard rechargeable batteries rated at 2000mAh or 2500mAh just won't provide the kind of power that these new devices require anymore." The new Extended Power 2900mAh Rechargeable AA's effectively solves this problem by offering more power to drive those high drain LCD screens and flash units.
International Quick charger for AA & AAA batteries
With any rechargeable battery there always comes time for the need to recharge, so Delkin decided to offer a new AA battery charger that would fulfill all of the requirements of today's busy photographer. "We called dealers and ran consumer surveys to find out what our customer's were truly after in a battery charger," says Lopez. "We found that a lot of the current chargers available in the market today are falling short of the basic requirements - size and ease of portability, reasonable charge time, high mAh rated cells, international capability, and safety." The AA/AAA International Quick Charger uses four charging circuits compared to the one or two that most chargers use today. This allows each battery to be individually monitored by the charger and by the user, which enables a more adequate and longer lasting charge and drastically increases safety. It also uses multiple safety features to protect against overcharge, excessive heat and possible short circuiting, and uses a methodical charge rate based on the quantity of cells being charged to properly condition and retain the lifespan of the battery while charging it in a reasonable amount of time. What's more, the AA/AA International Quick Charger is travel friendly with automatic 110V/220V switching and international plug options, with the US version having a foldable power plug for easy packing. Charge time depends on the mAh rating of the cells being charged, as well as the amount of cells being charged at one time, but one 2900mAh cell will be fully charged in about 80 minutes.
