G lu Mobile Inc., a leading global publisher of mobile games, announced the launch of the classic Atari arcade hit, Asteroids, for mobile phones. The original arcade game released by Atari in 1979 is among the most recognized and successful arcade games of all time. 28 years later, the classic retro space shooter has been reinvented specifically for the mobile platform, with all new enhancements including innovative new themes, bonuses and gameplay modes, as well as “classic mode” which gives gamers the gameplay and graphics true to the original game.

The new Asteroids is already receiving accolades from gaming industry experts, earning a 4-star rating (out of 5) and an Editor's Award from WGWorld. WGWorld reviewer Jesse Garcia commented, "It's the same shooter in every sense of the word with extra stuff added on to make it that much more fun. This is another classic for mobile re-done just right." As the newest mobile version of Asteroids, the game encompasses an array of features which modernize the experience yet keep it true to original, old-skool game play.
