W ireless 2007, the world’s largest event for the Wireless industry, announced that Mike Lazaridis, President and Co-CEO of Research In Motion (RIM) will deliver a keynote address on opening day, Tuesday, March 27. CTIA Wireless takes place March 27-29 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. Mike Lazaridis is replacing Motorola CEO Ed Zander as a keynoter. “Mike Lazaridis is a welcome addition to a stellar keynote line-up this year,” said Robert Mesirow, vice president of operations and show director for CTIA Wireless.

In his CTIA Wireless 2007 keynote address, Lazaridis is expected to address the fast-paced world of mobile convergence and the opportunities and challenges ahead. Mike Lazaridis is known in the global Wireless community as a visionary, innovator and engineer of extraordinary talent. As President and Co-CEO of RIM, a company he founded in 1984 while still a university student, Mike oversees strategy, R&D and manufacturing. He is also a recognized leader in his community and a passionate advocate for education and scientific research. In addition to his leadership, advisory and philanthropic contributions across a variety of institutions, Mike has provided sizable donations to establish the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics as well as the Institute for Quantum Computing.
