M otorola was founded in 1928 by the brothers Paul and Joseph Galvin. Company names are often based on a combination of names or the place where the product is made, but not Motorola. Where does the name Motorola actually come from? In 1930, the Galvin MFG. Corporation (as Motorola was then called) built the first commercial car radio. The radio became known as Motorola, from motor car and ola which was then a commonly used suffix in the audio world, (ola also means sound wave or wave). The company did not adapt this name until 1947. The first 'mobile' phone came out in 1983. Since then, Motorola has striven to be a progressive and innovative brand.

Motorola K1 - Menu

The Motorola KRZR K1's menu is orderly and logical. All of the functions have little icons. Several basic functions that can be used quickly with just one touch of a button can already be found on the KRZR K1's starter screen. The round selection key brings you to the main menu. The main menu contains all the settings that you would also find on other phones. It is a clearly set up menu. I still remember that Motorola used to have impossible menus, so I have to say that Motorola has done a good job on this one.

Motorola KRZR K1 - microSD memory card

You can enlarge the Motorola KRZR K1's internal memory with a microSD memory card. This makes it possible to save even more numbers and photos in the Motorola K1. The memory card lock is behind the flap that also conceals the battery. Luckily, you don't have to remove the battery whenever you want to change the memory card. You can transfer the files on the microSD memory card to a computer or notebook via Bluetooth, USB or IrDA. Of course, you could also choose to send a photo by MMS, or read the microSD card via a card reader and transfer the files to a computer.
