Samsung YP K5 - Speaker
One of the first things you notice when playing with the Samsung YP-K5, is that the MP3 player slides open via the so-called slider system that you also come across in phones. The Samsung's slider doesn't just open upwards like most mobile phones, but to the side. Now, many of you will be thinking "why does a MP3 player need to slide open"?, but Samsung thought it was a good place to conceal a speaker. The speaker has a beautiful silver cover, and when the Samsung K5 MP3 player is slid open, the loud speakers folds out upwards, which means that you can set the Samsung K5 down and operate it easily. The speaker doesn't need to be turned on via the menu, but is activated when you slide it open.

Samsung K5 MP3 player
It is fair enough to describe the Samsung K5 as a real innovation as it's definitely different to other MP3 players. It may not be the cheapest or the smallest, but it is certainly the most unusual. The speaker was a real find. You can listen to a good piece of music without an annoying plug in your ear. If you are listening with friends, the speaker is powerful enough to be heard above talking and laughter. We were able to use the Samsung K5 in practice for a while and you can read about how innovative this MP3 player really is in the following Samsung K5 review.
