We are now making another move to diversify our product portfolio across all price segments and tap into the high-end handset market of the region with our PG-6100.". "Argentina is fully part of our tremendous efforts to further expand our market share in Latin America. The launch of this new product will help us move closer to achieving our goal of increasing our presence in the region and to position ourselves as a true leading mobile handset manufacturer," said Mr. Kim. The PG-6100, the intenna clamshell phone, features a 2 mega pixel camera with smooth 4x digital zoom and a 1.9 inch 260,000 color TFT display as well as a 260,000 color OLED sub-display. The new phone also provides a large 256MB internal memory, and 64 polyphonic ring tones. Users can also send photos and phone numbers to other mobile phones through the phone's infra-red data association (IrDA) functionality. Pantech has become the sixth best-selling brand in Argentina since its first entry in the country late 2005. Pantech recently introduced the three GSM handsets - PG-3810, PG-1310V, and PG-1610 - to the Argentina's mobile phone market in September. The PG-1410, launched early this year, is one of the best selling bar-type camera phones. Pantech expects its market share in the Argentine mobile phone market to reach up to 6 percent in 2006. The company plans to further increase its market share at least up to 10 percent by the end of 2007.
