P antech Group, Korea’s leading mobile phone manufacturer, today unveiled three stylish new handsets to be made available in Argentina and announced plans to capture at least 10 percent of the Argentine mobile phone market by the end of 2007. The new products, the PG-3810, PG-1310V and the PG-1610 will be offered through CTI Movil, the Argentine affiliate of America Movil, the largest mobile carrier in Latin America. Keon C. Kim, Senior Vice President, Overseas Sales, Pantech Group, said: “Argentina is integral to our efforts to further expand in Latin America. The launch of these exciting new products is in line with our goal to increase our presence in the region and to position ourselves as a leading mobile handset manufacturer”.

Pantech 3810 - Attractive design

The ultra-compact PG-3810 features a slick, attractive, easy-to-grip design in silver. It weighs only 69.9g and features a 330k pixel CMOS camera, 262K color display, MP3 ring tones and speakerphone. Users can also send photos and phone numbers to other mobile phones through the phone's infra-red data association (IrDA) function.

 

Pantech 1310V - Voice scheduler function
Another compact clamshell handset, the PG-1310V, includes a voice scheduler function, which means that users can record and save their personal schedules in their own voices. In addition, the new phone features a 1.5 inch 65,000 color LCD and a VGA CMOS camera, along with WAP 2.0 and JAVA applications.

 

Pantech 1610 - Robust digital camera
The semi-automatic PG-1610 slider phone features a robust digital camera with zoom functionality, along with MP3 ring tones and a speaker phone. Starting this week, the three new handsets will be promoted in time for Mother's Day and the Christmas Holidays, which are the two peak seasons for handset sales in Argentina. Pantech became the sixth best-selling brand in Argentina during the first half of this year, less than six months after its initial launch in the market at the end of 2005. The PG-1410 - launched early this year - is one of the best selling bar-type camera phones.
